India freaking dominated Bangladesh in the third T20 match in Hyderabad, winning by a massive 133 runs. It was a total wipeout – they won the series 3-0, no doubt. This game is one for the books, believe me.
Sanju Samson went absolutely nuts, scoring his first T20I century. Dude smashed 111 runs in just 47 balls. The man was just sending balls flying for fours and sixes. Even when the heat was on, he was calm and in control of his actions. Because he played so well, India was able to get to a huge score on the leaderboard. You can see this guy is really stepping up his game based on games like this. This is not the only time it has been shown that Sanju Samson is one of the top contestants in the India national team.
Right after Samson was dismissed, Suryakumar Yadav kept the party going with a crazy 75 runs off only 35 balls. He was hitting the ball so hard that it put so much pressure on the Bangladeshis. He ended up with a reputation as one of the most fearless T20 players around. He has come a long way, and made lots of decisions, over this long period of time.
All those huge hits from Samson and Yadav took India to 297/6 in 20 overs. Can you believe that's the highest T20I score ever by a full ICC member? It blew the doors off the old record of 260/6 that South Africa made against the West Indies way back in 2015. India came out swinging. They went on offense from the starting bell, trying to get runs that immediately gave Bangladesh a uphill battle.
Bangladesh had a terrible time trying to keep up with a score of 298. Their best players just weren't able to find their groove It's like they had forgotten everything they knew up until that point. Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy, guys who are normally dependable, had worry getting runs off the Indian bowlers. They gave it everything they had, but the score they needed kept getting outside their reach, and someone even got hurt during this ordeal. Bangladesh ended up with 164/7, which was not even close to winning the game.
- Sanju Samson: 111 runs (47 balls)
- Suryakumar Yadav: 75 runs (35 balls)
- Bangladesh Top Score: Litton Das, 45 runs
- Best Bowling: Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Bangladesh), 3 wickets for 66 runs
India's choice to bat first seriously paid off. The dry pitch in Hyderabad was perfect for batting for the guys from India. The guys at the top provided a solid start to propel the team, which gave the guys in the middle the chance to really punish the bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy totally locked things down on defense, making it hard for Bangladesh to score runs without any effort. They really were able to keep the run rate down.
This big win displays how good India is at T20 cricket and is awesome practice for upcoming matches for them to play and get more skilled. The team is a cool mix of experienced guys and young talent. They will be not easily taken care of.
That third T20I between India and Bangladesh was a nonstop show, but it was more than just that though. It was a show with good decision-making on the part of team India, and there was no shortage of players who stepped beyond and above what was expected of them. Players like Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav performed way better than people thought they would. This match proves all the skills they have in T20 they can show whenever they want to. People are surely going to be talking about this game for a long time.
