Get set for a lively Tuesday afternoon of flat racing! Sky Sports Racing has you covered with races from both Brighton and South well. Tune in from 2:15pm to catch all the action. Let's break down some of the races we're looking forward to:
7:30 PM South well: Can Universal Story or Tamaris Score Another Win?
- Keep an eye on the attheraces.com/market movers Handicap at South well. Two horses, Universal Story and Tamaris, are hoping to make it three wins in a row!
- Universal Story: Jennie Candlish trains this runner, and she's been doing great lately. After wins at Newcastle and then right here at South well just over a week ago, she's up six pounds in the rankings. She really seemed to improve in that last race, and it looked like she had something left in the tank at the finish. Could be one to watch! She will have more challenges this time around and the other horses are no slouches so Universal Story really do need to bring her A Game.
- Tamaris: This one's coming back after a break, last winning at Wolverhampton back in April. James Owen's stable is in good form right now, and even though Tamaris hasn't raced in a while, her past record means you can't count her out. He is a consistent performer at this level, and the extended break may play into his strength meaning fresher legs and a stronger mind when he goes racing this coming week.
- Alfie D looks like the best of the rest in this race, so keep an eye on him. The real winning factor for Alfie D will be if can maintain composure in the latter stages and pull away.
6:00 PM South well: Lady Wing along vs. Noel Fox in the Big One!
- The main event this evening at South well is the Arc £1Million Bonus Has £150K Increase! Fillies' Handicap. Two horses in good form are going head-to-head:
- Lady Wing along: David Evans trains her, and she's been pretty reliable. With six wins from 32 starts (including a good one at Newbury in August), she should be up there fighting for the win again. She likes to hug this course and is a very consistent at this level of racing that means you can definitely expect her to bring home the bacon for all of her loyal fans.
- Noel Fox: Switched over to Jennie Candlish's yard from Ralph Beckett back in July. She seems to be getting back into form, with a fourth place finish at Haydock and then a close second at South well last month. She will be looking to go one step further and claim the crown that eluded her last month at this very venue.
- Soho Square is an interesting one. He's now with Ed Bethell after moving from James Fanshawe. He hasn't raced as much as the others, so he could be a surprise package. He is by far the least exposed and may have hidden talents that he has yet to share with the rest of the world. So Soho Square is definitely one to watch and could be the dark horse in this race.
4:45 PM Brighton: Can Dinah Myte Do It Again?
- Dinah Myte is looking to repeat her success in the Jennings Bet In Andover Handicap, even with a six pound weight increase. She's up against nine other horses.
- John Gallagher trains this filly, and she got her first ever win over a mile at Ffos Las just over a week ago. It was a really impressive performance, especially considering her previous races. She will need to defy the doubters as well as the handicappers to maintain her winning ways here at Brighton but who knows. Lightning may strike twice!
- If she runs like that again, she's got a good shot.
- As for the competition, Princess Pw has yet to win in 10 races, but she's now at a weight that might give her a better chance. Clip sham Noble has won here before at this distance, so he's probably the one to beat of the others. He is the pundits one to watch although they have been wrong countless times before so do not always pay attention to them.
Other Races to Watch
2:45 PM Brighton: Roman Spring is trying to follow up on his recent win at this course and distance.
3:15 PM Brighton: Ciarrai Abu is making his debut for Harry Eustace in the EBF Restricted Maiden Stakes, hoping for his first win.
